Over the past 20 years, I’ve probably gone no longer than a 48-hour period where I didn’t connect to the Internet to check email or surf the web, at least briefly.
You could call that impressive. Or sad. (Probably both.)
It is amazing, when you stop to think about it, how ubiquitous connectivity has become.
But an opportunity has presented itself for me to fully and completely disconnect from the Internet for the next 12 days. With some mix of apprehension, curiosity, and excitement, I’ve decided to take the plunge.
It will be a good to step away from the keyboard (“AFK!”) and take time to reflect without reflexively turning to a Google search.
So I’m posting this as a notice that if you’re trying to reach me over email or social channels, don’t expect a reply until after July 10. (I anticipate that my mailbox may be a tad bloated when I return, so it may take me a little while to catch up — if you need anything urgently, best to reach out again after that date.)
I look forward to picking up the dialog of fascinating things happening in martech land in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I hope you have an enjoyable start to your summer.
See you on the other side!
P.S. If you haven’t yet done so, check out the sneak peek of the upcoming MarTech conference in Boston this fall. I’m thrilled about the incredible speakers and topics we’ve got lined up.
